Welcome to our eighth Local Bite Mini Challenge and the knowledge that you are now, officially, completed more than half of the entire challenge (that is, if you’ve been around since April 12th 😉 )!
This week we are focusing on Community Gardens.
Community Gardens are said to have been around in the US since the 1890’s and have benefited people from a variety of backgrounds in cities large and small through all kinds of struggles and good times alike! So, whether you are already a participant, looking into joining one, or simply want to gain some knowledge about what is available in your area, now is the time to do a bit of research! Then, come back here and comment (or join the conversation in our Facebook group), letting us know what you learned about Community Gardens in your area and whether or not you’ve ever participated in one!
Lastly, have you been participating in the extension of Week One’s Mini Challenge, One Item? If you would like to continue to further challenge yourself (beyond this weeks challenge or the previous weeks challenges), you can do so throughout the entirety of the 100 day challenge by simply picking one new item every single week of the challenge. By doing so, you will have 14 new-to-you items at the end of the challenge that you’ve tried and hopefully enjoyed Of course, you can participate every week, or pick and choose which weeks work for you!
Before I go, I just want to send out a HUGE Thank You to each and every one of you who has participated in this challenge in any way, shape, or form. I know that we have been absolutely transformed by this challenge and how we are thinking about our food sources and choices…I hope that you have seen similar changes and benefits!
xoxo,
M
