Welcome to our fourth Local Bite Mini Challenge!
Your challenge this week is to treat yourself to a meal in a cafe, coffee shop or restaurant that sources at least some of their ingredients locally! Ask around in your community, check with your local Farmer’s Market, research online, call and ask a few questions. Once you’ve picked a place, go out and enjoy some local food and/or beverages with actual local ties! Then, come back here and comment (or join the conversation in our Facebook group), letting us know all about your experience, where you went and what you ate or drank!
I mean really, after all of the cooking from scratch you all have been doing, you definitely deserve a bit of a break!
You are also voting with your dollars here in a different way…the more locally sourced items sell at restaurants and coffee shops, the more they’ll carry in the future! Remember, this is supposed to FUN…not stressful! So, if all you find is a small salad with locally sourced greens, SWEET! How about a glass of wine made using local grapes? Non-local coffee served with local cream and honey? Score! Think outside the box and treat yourself!
Now, have you been participating in the extension of Week One’s Mini Challenge, One Item? If you would like to continue to further challenge yourself (beyond this weeks challenge or the previous weeks challenges), you can do so throughout the entirety of the 100 day challenge by simply picking one new item every single week of the challenge. By doing so, you will have 14 new-to-you items at the end of the challenge that you’ve tried and hopefully enjoyed Of course, you can participate every week, or pick and choose which weeks work for you!
Happy Restaurant week!
xoxo,
M
