In the Garden (late May)

In the Garden (late May)

In an effort to practice a bit more self care, I’ve been intentionally assessing how I spend my time. So, instead of getting up and staring at a screen every morning, I am spending a bit more time in the garden….

In the Garden - art, kale, pea

I am making my tea, bundling up, and allowing the quiet space I so deeply crave while puttering around our tiny plot and taking in all the subtle changes I observe from day to day…

In the garden - corn, apples, lemon balm

Pushing seeds into soil, making plans for future projects…

In the Garden - rhubarb, tea, peas

Praising the corn for it’s sprouting into the world and pulling the weeds…

In the Garden - rose, grape, strawberry

It is a meditation of sorts that, throughout the emotional and literal winter, I forgot I needed so badly.

A few moments to myself to watch hope and new growth and so much potential spring up all around me.

Spring in the garden really is a magical place, isn’t it?

xoxo,
M

I agree. It is very magical. I went out into the garden to weed yesterday just because I wanted to be out in the garden. Not that it really needed weeding much. I can’t wait until things are in flower and I can hear the bees buzzing around constantly.
