January must have been the longest year ever, don’t you think?
All kidding aside, I’m glad for the turning of a page, even if it’s just a page in the 2025 calendar.
January brought us our coldest night yet (-19*), lots of frozen water alongside a bit of wood chopping, a few snow flurries and a lot of sunshine.
Despite the season and a single deeply cold cold front, we’ve hardly seen Winter yet in our neck of the woods. With our high temp hitting 73* today and 70s in the forecast in the coming days, I have to admit my concern for the warmest seasons ahead.
The berries and fruit trees…
And the pests.
Yes, it’ll surely freeze some more
And all we can do is watch and wait…
I’m really not yet ready to start planning the garden, but I think I should get on it. Maybe we’ll have an especially warm Spring again like we did last year.
Maybe we won’t.
Time will tell.
And so we wait 🙂
How are things in your neck of the woods? Are you ready to charge into the next season or are you hoping for a more gentle slide?
xoxo,
M
