The Changing Seasons – August 2017

Oh how I’ve missed participating in Cardinal’s monthly Changing Seasons link ups! Not just because it allows me to reflect on the month that has just passed, but also because it allows me to see how other are experiencing the passing of time in their corners of the world!

Alas, despite my best intentions, I fell away from participating a very long time ago (though I do still check in on Cardinal from time to time and am so glad he’s still blogging and sharing his wonderful photography, tattoo-convention-filled-life, and changing seasons across the globe 🙂 ).

I swear, no matter how I’ve tried over the past six and a half years, I just can’t seem to find a regular posting schedule.

I blame farming, working, and mothering.

And so, here I am, without the promise of a September (or October, November, or December) post as a continuous and consistent way of posting, jumping into the fold again as I reflect on our August and on the gentle slide into Autumn (though it won’t be official for another 3.5 weeks) we’re already feeling (and seeing) here.

Here is a glimpse into the changing seasons we are blessed to experience in Northern NM:

Hoping your August wraps up wonderfully, and that your September slide will offer you everything your heart desires!

xoxo,
M

  1. As you slide into the wind down, we are contemplating the start of new beginnings here! Of course the crazy nation has declared spring as the 1st September….but outside the winds are blowing strongly, and it’s cold. We may get snow on Saturday….like you guys, we still have weeks of this left before spring really begins…and then it takes ages for the soil to warm where I live. Practicing patience and enjoying all the northern hemisphere harvest blogs!!

    1. I often think that our opposite seasons are what give me inspiration and hope! I so love *all the seasons and so to be going into one myself while the opposite happening in other parts of the world on other blogs is so enjoyable to me! I hope your spring comes fast and beautifully, full of new growth and endless hopeful inspiration!

  2. This is a beautiful collection Melissa. I can’t over the snake one!
I know how you feel about participating regularly in these different photo challenges. I used to participate in Max’s changing seasons one as well. My last one was in 2015. Hopefully, I can get one together for this month. I realize as well how enjoyable it is to reflect/remember and to view other’s submissions.

    1. Thank you so much! I’m so glad you popped over and I think you for taking the time to comment! I do hope you are able to pull together a Changing Seasons post 🙂 It’s nice to catch up and see the world through others lenses, even if only every once in a while! Hope you have a lovely weekend!

  3. Is that bull snake at your farm stealing eggs?!?

I agree that a regular posting schedule is difficult. It’s kind of random for me. I’ve been sort of inactive this spring/summer, compared to what I used to.

    1. Yep, that Bull Snake was stealing our eggs! We relocated him about a half mile down the field and encouraged him to eat nice and gophers instead 😉
