Tired and overwhelmed (though feeling accomplished, for sure) at the end of a very long (self imposed) work day, I did something I don’t often do:
I turned off the computer and the TV…
I did the farm chores and put the animals to bed…
I put down my phone and found a big fat log…
and I just sat.
I took deep breathes and watched the sun set.
I listened to the birds and counted my blessings.
I quieted my mind and focused in on the temperature as it dropped degree by degree in step with the slowly darkening sky.
And it was such a gift.

Wishing you all small moments of grace and self care as you round out your week, too, my friends.

It’s the small moments right! For me it was a new to me tea, called relaxation, in the back garden, my kids inside for once! I just sat, meditated, communed with my chooks, especially Flo, she is one good talker that chook! And I looked at my veggie garden, winding down for the summer, smelled the cooling air, listened to the afternoon bird sounds. Just sat. It was only 30mins but they were 30 glorious minutes!
Isn’t it amazing how *long 30 minutes can feel when you quiet yourself enough to be fully present in it?! Such a wonderful reminder of the necessity to slow down and practice some self care more often 🙂
Sounds wonderful!
