Settle in Gently

After a week of traveling to (and all around) STL for work (a conference for Kim), family (so many cousins and aunts and uncles and grandparents and great- grandparents) and friends (beautiful, wonderful, hilarious, glorious friends), we’re back home and doing our best to settle in gently.  Luckily, the weather is perfect re-entry weather as we’ve been greeted by a cloud filled, rainy weekend, setting the perfect backdrop for the slow days we need so desperately after such a physically and emotionally exhausting week.

So, instead of powering through and trying to get a million things done from our ever-growing To Do list, movies and popcorn, the canning of a few quarts of beans, a little writing and photo editing and the pushing of a few (flower) seeds into soil are on the agenda.  If, as the day goes on, I feel inspired to do more, I might plan out our veggie garden but I’m not even sure that level of inspiration is in the cards for me today and I’m OK with that 😉

Speaking of writing, though, I have several posts floating around in my head right now about several things homesteading and life-in-general related which I hope and intend to have here for you as the coming week progresses.  I have found myself so inspired by so many things since our move (the garden, the turkeys, the potential for bees and goats, the process of just getting here to our new home and our way forward…), I just need to break them all apart and put the projects, experiences, thoughts, and inspirations into words that makes sense outside of my brain and in this space.

You get that, right?

Excellent! 😉

Now, before I go today, I do want to invite you to submit your farm pics to my monthly Farm Photo Friday gallery link up coming up in just a few days!  I hope you know how much I love having you as part of this little online community and how much I truly love seeing all of your photos! I’d be honored to feature you in my FPF gallery!

Alright, I’m off to do as little as possible!  Wishing you a lovely Sunday!

xoxo,
M
