Happy Monday, everyone!
It’s been a while since I have written a Harvest Monday post simply because there hasn’t been much to report besides eggs, eggs and more eggs.
Really though, honestly, I am incredibly grateful for all of our eggs! The color, the taste, the ability to harvest them from our own chickens in our own backyard! Yes, I really am this nerdy about our eggs and the Ladies who lay them!
Additionally, there have been a couple of tiny harvests of some of the greens that are growing under our grow lights in the Laundry Room. Delicious? Yes. But there’s not nearly enough growing for regular harvests and seeds must be put in the actual ground outside the four walls of our home. Maybe this week will be the week for a few kale, spinach and chard seeds to make their way into the soil…
Harvest totals for the past month:
- Mixed greens = 4 oz
- Eggs = 299
Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
Happy harvesting!

Such beautiful eggs. I saved the picture so I can use it for a desktop background sometimes. 🙂
Awwww……the eggs are so beautiful, lovely pastel colors.
Wow that’s a lot of eggs and the colors are so pretty! Someday I hope to have hens.
We adore our hens and are in constant appreciation of the abundance they bring us (and fun). 😀
The greens harvest must be a welcome relief from the dark days of winter – promises of things to come.
It still amazes me how continually grateful I feel for our hens. It truly is something i didn’t expect when we brought our first batch home from the Feed Bin!
Your eggs are lovely – I would be nerdy about them too. Especially as there are so many of them.
I will always be a happy nerd when it comes to growing and collecting our own food 🙂
I just love all those colourful eggs! 299? Wow!
Thanks! It’s been a whirlwind of collecting and washing and eating and giving away and selling!
These eggs are just so beautiful. Definitely cannot get these at the store!
Lol…nope! Which makes me love them even more!
I agree with Mary Ann!
It’s time to put things in the ground here, too. I am looking forward to it, I just need the weather to cooperate a little bit!!
Yeah…stinkin weather! Just as soon as I think it’s time to start throwing some seeds down, we get a cold snap!
I said it before but I have to say it again, I am sooooo jealous of your eggs. My grounds are still quite cold so will be a bit longer before I direct sow.
We’ve hit a nice pocket of warm weather here, but I know the temps will drop again, leaving me longing for actual, sustained warmth 🙂
I would say that 299 eggs in a month was pretty darn good at the end of winter!
Absolutely! The Ladies really picked up their production in the last month or so! I’m so proud of them 😉
We love our eggs, too – and the ladies who give them to us! Yours are beautiful. Mine are just standard cream/brown but I like them very much. nice harvest. It may be small, but it won’t be long now before you’ll be planting and harvesting a whole lot more!
Yes, anytime there is a harvest to report, there are blessing to count 🙂
