Harvest Monday

Happy Monday everyone!!!

The past week was an incredibly busy and quite exhausting one…but I don’t think I really realized how crazy it was until I looked back on my harvest photos and found…one. ย Ah well, such is life sometimes!

The good news is, we harvested our first bush beans and zucchini of the season, the cherry tomatoes are starting to trickle in on a more regular basis and our pullets are officially (and regularly) laying! ย The garden is starting to provide us with daily tastes of the season and holds lots of promise for the coming couple of months (I’ve counted over 30 tomatoes on just one Cherokee Purple vine)!

Now if I can just find a minute to start our fall veggies, I’ll be all set ๐Ÿ˜‰

This weeks totals:
  • Beet Greens = 4 oz
  • Bush Beans = 8 oz
  • Chamomile = not weighed
  • Dill = 1 oz
  • Jalapenos = 4 oz
  • Lemon Balm = 1 oz
  • Mint = 1 oz
  • Tomatoes = 11 oz
  • Zucchini = 1 lb
  • Eggs = 36

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
Happy harvesting!

  1. Nice that your garden is starting to come in. I am sort of glad that mine isn’t ready since I am laid up on crutches right now but the weeds are doing great.

  2. Don’t you love having a steady supply of the freshest best eggs money can’t buy! Your girls are doing a great job. And you are doing a great job with the veggies.

    1. Thanks, Michelle! Fresh eggs really can’t be beaten! I feel very lucky and excited about our tiny production each week!

    1. Me too! We’ve grown them for a few years now and they’ve become my favorite!

  3. Great harvest. I know what you mean about finding time for fall crops. I’ve got tons to get planted and I can’t seem to ever be able to find the time to get them in!!

    1. Time is always doing its best to slip away! Hope you can catch some time soon to plant your fall crops! I’m shooting for this weekend ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Your harvest looks great. I envy the eggs. I occasionally get some eggs from a friend of my townhouse mates. She has the best eggs ever. Even better than the farmers market free range eggs. I’d eat those every day if I could.

    1. It really is amazing the difference in eggs! Makes me think about their little systems and how quickly what they eat gets turned into something we eat! Feed ’em good and keep ’em happy! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  5. It’s busy now but you are at least harvesting some of the work you put in. Looks like you have the makings of a frittata and a salad in that one photo.

    1. Yes…the harvests make all the work worth while. It’s not quite instant gratification, but I think it’s even better ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Some weeks are like that. I was traveling and away most all of the week so my harvests were confined to just a few days. Before that, my work/professional life was being all consuming. I am hoping that for the rest of the summer I can slow it down a bit and enjoy the season while it is here (oh so briefly).

I love the pic of the tri colored beans. The combination of green, purple, and gold beans makes for a very festive harvest basket.

    1. Yes…enjoy the season while it’s here…what a concept, ha? Sometimes we get so busy and so wrapped up we forget to just enjoy what’s right in front of us. Cheers to enjoying the season!

  7. My job has me working some insane shifts so I know how it is! Trying to get beds ready for fall plantings too! What a great looking harvest you have.

  8. This time of year can be crazy busy. I am still waiting for my tomatoes to set fruit, well one plant has very green fruits. Beautiful collection of eggs.

    1. Thanks, Norma…I am in love with our pretty little eggs! Oh, I love the anticipation that green tomatoes bring! I usually check them at least twice a day just to see if there has been any tiny shift in color! ๐Ÿ™‚
