This week I, again, didn’t get into the hoop houses. It snowed all day Saturday and Sunday it just wasn’t warm enough for me to feel comfortable opening them up and letting all the heat out. So, this weeks harvests are only from under the grow lights (thank goodness for the grow lights)!!
Green, green and more green. It sure is pretty, but I’ll be happy when there’s more in the basket than just green 🙂
This weeks totals:
- Mixed Greens = 3 ounces
- Spinach = 1 ounce
- Kale = 1 ounce
- Eggs = 17
Happy harvesting!

Fabulous!! CONGRATS!
missed you:))
Ha! Thanks! Missed you, too 🙂
Your lettuce looks great for grow lights. Your hoop house will be fine. Maybe next week. I’ll think warm thoughts for yoU!
Thanks, Barbie! I can’t wait to get in there! Saturday will be the day…I think 😉
Your greens look lovely – great photos.
Right now, I would gladly settle for greens. 🙂 But I understand how you feel. I hope you can get to your produce soon.
Lynn
Thanks, Lynn…me too!!!
Thanks, Jody! Me either!!! 😉
What a great picture. The greens are very pretty. We can’t wait to see what finally comes out of those hoop houses.
That’s great that you can have such pretty greens even when it is snowy outside! Enjoy your fresh salads.
Thanks, Julie! I am super grateful 🙂
Beautiful photos of your lettuce. Any harvest is a good harvest, and fresh green is better than frozen, black and mushy.
Yes, yes…fresh lettuce is definitely better than frozen, black and mushy 😉
A quick in and out of your hoop house shouldn’t do too much damage. Just make sure your out there at the warmest part of the day!! Your greens look really good!
Thanks! My plan is to pop in and out next weekend when I’m home during the day again…I just hope it’s wet enough in there…
lovely greens; I would just go in the hoop house just before the warmest part of the day, opening as little as possible and getting it closed back up as the warmest sun comes to it, then it can warm up again before it gets dark…. We are so warm right now I’m having to ventilate quite a bit so we don’t overheat and make everything bolt!
Thanks for your wisdom, Mary! I try to do just as you’ve said, it just didn’t work out last weekend. Isn’t this winter just so strange?! Do you normally have to ventilate at this time of year!
Lovely, lovely greens, varied and colorful.
Thanks, Norma!
Those are a cheery mix of greens though! I know what you mean about the wait for something more substantial and different to hit the harvest basket. Right now though, I would be just happy to get some more substantial greens harvests.
Yeah…I could go for some more substantial harvests as well…even if they are just green 😉
At least you had nice greens. I should harvest some basil but I have so much already I have just been letting it grow. Not looking real good as it needs to be cut back.
Ahhh…basil! Ours is limping along in a couple of pots…definitely not overgrown! I’ll trade you some greens for some basil 😉
