what a beautiful piece. 🙂 so sweet the kiddos got to see that art! 🙂
Yes, we were very grateful. He was so sweet about it, too! Just let them put their hands all over it with no worries! The best!
Wow, beautiful! Beaded? Woven?
-Jaime
Jaime – Both!!! Isn’t it wonderful? I manage an after school program for girls…one of our parents made this beautiful beaded/woven piece and then brought it in one afternoon to share it with our girls. It was quite a gift for the girls to be able to see it, touch it and ask questions about how he made it 🙂
Wish I could scan this to see what it links to! How creative to weave that in! Thanks for sharing my moment earlier.
Jana – Thanks for popping over! I don’t have the link, but I know that the scan takes you to a website that explains the project through which this was created 🙂 I’ll try to get the link form the artist…
That is beautiful too look at and touch.
Holy Cow! That is gorgeous! Someone has A LOT of patience

Hey bee girl! thanks for the visit. and for introducing me to your blog. what a great picture. your site looks very interesting- i’m on to check it out!
Thanks for popping over, Kiele!
Hello Bee Girl!
Thanks for visiting Chickenblog.
Maria, in first grade, has been learning about emigrants, and her own family heritage. As a final project all the children made family trees, and a box decorated to reflect *where they are from* and their family’s cultural traditions. In the box are some treasures she’s collected from Holland, Spain, Mexico, California and Wisconsin.
Thank you for asking about Maria’s box… I am very proud of the initiative she took in making it all by herself.
And now I gotta ask: what are you creating? Are those beads?
Natalie – What a wonderful project! Thank you for sharing the story of it with me! The beading project wasn’t mine…I manage an after school program for girls…one of our parents made this beautiful beaded/woven piece and then brought it in to share it with our girls. It was quite a gift for the girls and brought me great joy 🙂
gorgeous!
Did you make this?
Laura – Right?! I did not make this…I wish I had the patience for something like this! The artist is Will Wilson. I run an after school program that his daughter attends and he brought this in for our girls to see. It was quite an awesome experience! You can find some of his older work here: http://eportfolio.cfa.arizona.edu/gallery.php?portid=713&sec=1387
