2012 Photography Challenge

You might remember that for the last part of last year, I participated in the 2011 Color Photography Challenge over at An Offering of Love.

It was great fun each month…kind of like a scavenger hunt!   In case you missed them, here are my October, November & December shots.

This year, the challenge is being switched up a bit in order to give us each some space for our own “artistic exploration”!  I encourage each of you to consider participating in these monthly challenges.  Not only is it fun to complete them, but it’s wonderful to see how others have interpreted each theme.

  • January:  You / self-portraits / home
  • February:  Black & white photography
  • March:  5 senses
  • April:  Flowers / leaves
  • May: 1 thing from different perspectives / points-of-view
  • June:  Water or liquid
  • July: City landmarks / street photography
  • August:  Macro photography
  • September:  Lines or shapes
  • October:  Doors and windows
  • November: Silhouettes or mirrors or shadows
  • December:  Glass or metal
Here’s my January contribution …

  1. I dunno about the photography challenge since we have managed to lose three digital cameras in less than a year! (I blame the twins.) I’ll give it a go, though, regardless of the fact that I’m more of a graphs and facts type of gal and not artsy at all.

So, I’ll see your photo challenge and raise you a food challenge that a friend and I have going on for 2012: http://theoccasionalchef.blogspot.com/2012/01/2012s-challenge-vx4.html

    1. Kaye – Well, as long as you can hold onto your camera, there’s no judgement in regards to graphs and facts vs. artsy types 😉 Have fun with it!

I’ll check out your food challenge, too 🙂

  2. I love the idea. I’ll add mine to the pot each month and link back here if you’d like.
Is it something that takes place at the same time each month or can it be anytime of the month? (Just hoping I didn’t miss my opportunity)

    1. Angela – I’m so happy you’ve joined up! I think you’ve found you’re answer, but you can post at any time throughout the month 🙂

  3. great photo! i really like the theme ideas. especially the five senses, that’s quite a challenge. self-portraits are so hard…maybe i’ll give it a shot.

    1. Emily – Oh, I hope you’ll jump in! It’s great fun and since there’s not a date attached to each month, you’re imagination gets to run wild until you find just the right item/theme, etc 🙂
