Happy Monday everyone!
The past two weeks have been full of a whole lot of nothing much…in the garden, at least…there is busy-ness happening everywhere but there! There’s lots trying to grow, but not much ready for harvesting. The lettuce in the ground froze completely over the past week with our below zero temperatures at night and the veggies in the Wagons are still struggling with the cold and that stinkin’ pest! Thank goodness for grow lights! It may not be much, but it’s something!
I should mention that our sprouts, wheat grass and greens under our grow lights are doing great! We are keeping our fingers crossed that the greens will be big enough to complete our salad on Christmas! For now though, the sprouts make a nice (and extremely tasty) addition to a salad.
Also, I’m making an attempt at growing some basil inside and these little babies just poked up their little heads! Yay for germination! 😉

Sorry your lettuce froze. 🙁 I hope you get your greens for Christmas! 🙂

We’re facing the same issue here with freezing temps. It’s not as cold as you describe, but we have lettuce sprouts in our cold frames that I’m worried about. I really need to get downstairs and plant some seed under lights! Yours look great. I’m feeling motivated.
Great post and macro shots.
Beautiful sprouts! I’ve thought of getting into growing sprouts too….along with all the other things I want to do and never have time for.
Hi!
Great macro! Like the last shot. Have a great day!

Any harvest is better than none and what a great thing to have fresh greens even if it’s only a little bit.
Grow sprouts grow!!!!
It may be a small amount at this time of year, but you are still getting fresh greens grown right at home.
Your sprouts are looking so healthy. What is the growing medium you use?
