We Made it onto the Front Page!

A Reporter (Adele) from the Santa Fe New Mexican (our local paper) showed up to the Kitchen Garden & Coop Tour on Sunday and chatted me up for a bit.  Silly Me didn’t think much of it since not every story a reporter comes up with actually makes it into the paper…but this one did and it even included a couple of pictures of our space…

The whole article can be found here:
Kitchen garden tour showcases locals’ growing efforts.

The most exciting part of the whole thing is that Adele chose to focus on the homes & properties that are growing their own food and keeping livestock and/or chickens!!!  Don’t get me wrong, the other properties were gorgeous, but they were also very large and quite unattainable for most of us “regular” folks. Landscape Architects?  Other properties on which to grow your own food, so this one is used for flowers, etc? Yeah…just not realistic for a lot of people. Beautiful, just not realistic.  But small plots, raised beds, a few chickens…food?  Yep, totally doable!

So, cheers to locally grown food…sown, grown and harvested with our own hands (and blood, sweat and tears, too)!!!

Speaking of which, please don’t forget to enter the Locally Grown t-shirt giveaway graciously offered by Fed By Threads!  The original post for giveaway is here.

Congratulations. I don’t know many famous people. I was also interviewed for an article in the local paper, but so far it hasn’t made it into print.
