Winter Tomatoes, The End

OK, so tomatoes that have been outside and are brought inside to attempt to continue their lives throughout the winter in a nice sunny location is a bad idea…a really bad, gross, bug infested idea.  Truth.

Judy was right, it’s a good idea in theory and the pictures in the magazine looked promising, but it can go downhill very quickly.

Our problem was aphids.  They were on every surface of the plants. So gross that we didn’t even take pictures before getting them outside.

Epic fail.

Oh well, now we know 🙂

xoxo,
M

Oh yeah we know all about the aphids! We recently recovered an old hot house with plastic to plant chilli peppers and tomatoes etc in it. There was an exposition kale in residence that was starting to go to seed, but we left it as I was still I lib the new leaves. Bad gross idea! I forgot about if for a coupe of weeks, then went to push past it to fill a watering can. It was grey with aphids. So very disgusting. I’m not sure why it was so especially disturbing, but it just was. It had like aphid dandruff and they came off in showers when you moved it. Spew.
Anyway, hi there from a new follower, I’ve added you I my reader. Blogging over at pepibebe.wordpress.com My wife and I recently moved onto my family’s 8 acre block of land which boasts a big permaculture garden, around 50 varieties of fruit (seriously!) and 2 chickens. Ugh…I’m remembering my windowsill herb garden in the drawer-sized flat I lived in for five years in Tokyo and what a dirty mess that was.
