Preparations

With the big meal less than 24 hours away, there’s a whole lot of prepping (and a whole lot of reflecting) going on around here!  We are incredibly blessed and have much to be thankful for this year!

Each year for dinner (which is usually eaten right around 3:00 pm) I stick mostly to the old favorites (here and here) while trying to branch out and do at least one new thing to challenge myself.  This year that challenge is making our pumpkin pie from scratch (with, of course, fresh whipped cream)!  I am super excited to be taking the little pie pumpkins that grew in our yard and turning them into actual pies!
I do hope that, however you’re celebrating this day, you are surrounded by the people you love and who love you back!
xoxo,
M

Ive just had a lovely catch up of your blog, I can’t believe I’ve ‘missed’ so much! Sounds like your doing wonderfully, I love that you bought half a cow, brilliant idea, when we have a chest freezer I want to buy a lamb – i love lamb so much!
I also wanted to say thank you so so so much for the beautiful gifts you sent for the pay it forward challenge, it came at a time when I needed a little lift, Al’s nephew died the week it arrived, he was only 1 year old… Some how your beautiful handmade presents reminded me of the beauty and kindness in the world. I wore the necklace non-stop while we were over in england for the funeral and it seemed to keep me grounded and connected to the circle of life – not just focused on the loss. Sorry for the really deep comment lol I just wanted you to know it meant so much to me 🙂 thank you and I will be doing my pay it forward soon too, sharing the love 🙂 xxx

Astra, Thank you so much for checking in! I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your sweet nephew. I am glad to hear that my gifts were able to remind you of the good in the world…sometimes it is hard to look past the difficult moments when you are in them. Staying grounded in the knowledge that we are all connected through energy and love is so important and I am glad you found that strength and reminder in my pendant. I cannot tell you how much it means to me that you shared this experience with me. Be kind to yourself and know you are in my thoughts! xoxo
