Apples

Apples

Last night we harvested a ton of apples.  Not from our trees, but from our friend’s parent’s trees.  We filled four boxes and a bag and didn’t even make a dent in the bounty that is growing on just two of their trees.

The deal was, free apples in trade for canned up apple sauce and sliced apples…Apple Pie in a Jar, anyone?  So, that’s how we’ll be spending our day.  I can think of worse things…

Have you thought about solar drying apple rings? 🙂

Wow, that’s a definite bounty! We’ve got one apple tree that is “supposed” to do well in our climate. I hope to get it in the ground in time for next spring. Nice job and do share pics of the apple butter and other goodies!

apple sauce, not apple butter…I had a flashback to my Grandmother making apple butter by the gallons, ha.
