Divine Moisture

Yesterday morning we went to the soccer fields to watch our favorite seven year play, but the game was cut short due to rain.

I don’t think a single person was upset.

Our “monsoon” season has finally arrived, blessing us with several days in a row of moisture and a forecast that includes at least a chance of rain for the next 10 days.  Some days have brought just a sprinkle, others have brought hours of soaking rain.  So far the storms have been gentle, leaving simply moist soil where cracked earth was before, but I anticipate heavier, more damaging storms in the future.  Truth be told, I’ll take a bit of hail as long as the lightening doesn’t spark any fires.

There really is nothing quite like the divine smell of rain in the (high) desert.

Great photos! I love the smell of rain in our desert on the creosote bushes . . . It’s what I imagine heaven will smell like! So wonderful you are getting rain!

Yay for rain! I love rain, and always have, even before I was a gardener.
