while dreaming big and allowing my desires to float up to the top and dance in front of my imagination.
In the Quiet that is January, I’ve been brainstorming ways to make this part-time homesteading gig a full time one…
how to set my own pace…how to be my own boss…
while brainstorming potential income streams and giving myself permission to rewrite my own story
(because I am the one holding the pen).
And so, how does one create a quilt of incomes doing things that are enjoyable (and probably still a whole lot of hard work)?
By taking a close look at where we are and where we want to be…
By allowing creativity and the necessity of lists to blend together…
and taking it all one step at a time.
Beginning now.

I’ve been playing with a different lens and some new settings on my camera as an extension of s l o w i n g down and seeing things through new eyes.
I do so enjoy the process of taking photos…of capturing a single moment in time…an expression…an emotion…a sunspot…the light bouncing off the living…
Magic.
And so, none of the above pics have been edited, just resized to take up less website space 😉

Your farm animal photos are beautiful, and different! You could do something on a site like Etsy, with cards, mugs, and prints. Or if you have a shop nearby that caters to tourists, you could try asking them about selling some of your art. The making money side of it is the hard part!

It looks as though photography is already part of your quilt. You’ve got an eye for a simple, calm image with a sense of place or character. Whether you can make your photos a paying part of the quilt is another matter – there’s so much competition out there – but if you make the most of what’s most distinctive about your pictures, why not? I’m sure the images from your ‘coffee mugs’ series must have a future somewhere!
